Sylvia Harris (1955–2011) co-founded the Public Policy Lab and served as the organization’s first board chair. She unexpectedly passed away shortly after the PPL’s launch, but her commitment to design for the public interest continues to inspire us, as does her generosity in mentoring other designers. We hope that PPL’s ongoing work can serve as part of her legacy as a ‘citizen designer.’
