Beginning in Q4 of 2011, we will be awarding seed funding and/or technical support for innovative projects in the policy and design arenas. Please see below for details of our two programs; related requests for proposals will be forthcoming.
The Public Policy Lab is actively seeking public-sector partners interested in tackling service-delivery challenges. Once a project is selected, we intend to offer our partners the expert advice of our seasoned board and staff, as well as dedicated assistance, when appropriate, from individually selected design fellows. See more about what we do for public agencies.
We also seek to engage with designers who are interested in developing user-centered solutions to real-world service needs. Designers should recognize the significant institutional, legal, and financial constraints facing public agencies and propose design interventions that are effective but modest. In addition to the opportunity to establish a relationship with the client agency, designers are offered a small honorarium and the opportunity to publish their project results.
